In April 2006, Wendy got her first taste for what the future would hold when she was approached by a neighbour to help stage their home for an upcoming Open House. The home had been on the market for 3 months and the homeowners had grown tired of uprooting their young family for various showings. After Wendy selected new paint colours and staged the home it sold for full asking price at the Open House.
Soon neighbours and friends caught on to Wendy’s talent and she began to decorate and stage their homes. In March of 2008 Wendy started at Exit Staged Right after completing her CCSP Home Staging Certification. In 2011 Wendy decided to venture out on her own and Wendy Black Interiors was formed. Word spread and her staging business was in full swing. Wendy has staged homes, cottages, offices and condos, working with individual homeowners, top realtors and builders. She brings experience, flair and commitment to every home staging project she takes on.
In 2015, seeing the need for furniture rentals for home stagers in her area, Wendy opened another business, aptly named Exit Staged Right Furniture and Accessories Rentals. Exit Staged Right was created to offer a unique and stunning selection of furniture rentals including artwork, greenery, rugs, lamps and decor. Exit's showroom and warehouse is located in Kitchener.
Wendy has acted as 2018 President of the KW RESA Chapter and is currently VP of Membership for her chapter. She is honoured to have been selected as RESA 2018 Top 10 Home Stager of the Year - Vacant, Canada and 2018 Top 100 Most Influential People in Real Estate Staging. She has appeared on CTV's Quick Fix At Five, Rogers TV Grand River Living, been on New York Empire Radio, and her work was on the cover and she was featured in Spotlight On Business magazine. Wendy has been published on Realtor.ca Living Room, Fine Homes Magazine, Neighbours of Grand River Magazine and CSP Staging Standard Magazine. She is a CSP Luxury Staging Specialist, CSP Residential Staging Specialist and CSP Official Goodwill Ambassador.
